Gurmeet And Debina Are Adopting Two Girls From Bihar And Breaking Stereotypes While Doing So

It was only yesterday that the world congratulated the new-to-parenthood parent, Karan Johar who turned father to twins- Yash and Roohi Johar, thanks to surrogacy. In fact, even Karan took to Twitter to share his excitement about the new chapter of his life and the boons of modern medicine.
While we were still rejoicing that, another good news from the same corner has arrived and nothing will make you more happy. Taking cue from Bollywood, Telly world’s favourite couple, Gurmeet Choudhury and Debina Bonnerjee are going to be parents.

According to Pune Mirror, Gurmeet and Debina from the ‘Ramayan’ fame are to adopt two baby girls, Pooja (6) and Lata (9) from Jarampur in Bihar. Gurmeet said,

“ALL THE PAPERWORK IS DONE. WE WILL BE GOING TO JARAMPUR FOR THE FINAL SIGNATURES AFTER HOLI. IT IS A TWO-DAY PROCESS.
EVERYBODY, KEEP ASKING ME WHEN I’M PLANNING A BABY. WELL, IT’S OFFICIAL NOW, I’M BRINGING HOME TWO DAUGHTERS AND WE COULDN’T BE MORE EXCITED.”

The ‘Ram’ and ‘Sita’ couple also divulged details about their plan of making the girls feel at home and comfortable enough. He further added,

“After one academic year, they will shift in with us in our Andheri home by 2018. My brother and his family live in Patna and they will be around to see that they are well cared for. Debina and I will travel to Patna three-four times in the year and stay there through their summer vacation too.”

Apparently, the girls have already started watching his shows to get to know their new daddy.

Addressing the notion of alternatives to conceiving a child, Gurmeet in fact, has spoken from his heart and is setting the right example for us all.

“The general belief is that you only adopt if you can’t have children of your own. That’s not true at all. Both Debina and I love kids and plan to have a couple of our own in the future. And when they come along they will be siblings for Pooja and Lata and all the Choudharys will happily live together under one roof.”

I don’t know about you but the world suddenly seems like a better place to live in. Wish we had more people like you, Gurbina. You have our respect!
